​In the theater, we tell stories. What we review is the storytelling abilities put to work in each production, as a whole for the production and by individuals in specific roles. We send our best student storytelling artists to New York.​

Each participating school’s musical production will be viewed and evaluated by three carefully selected adjudicators. In addition to awarding points according to detailed guidelines, each adjudicator will produce performance and production commentaries for each school as a learning tool. The awards criteria emphasize achievement, not budget or size of production.

​We also adjudicate second casts as requested for an additional $175. Each member of Cast B must be listed on the school’s registration form. Scoring for Cast A will be used for production award categories unless a specific request is made by the director and acknowledged by our program.

Nominees for Best Actor/Actress and Best Supporting Actor/Actress will receive written evaluations from our adjudicators.

The highest scores in each category will determine our winners. Nominees will be announced between April 15 and April 19. Winners will be announced at the our awards show May 3, 2024.
