Individual Awards
Best Actor/Actress
Only registered high school students and home school students officially part of the participating high school’s production are eligible. The role to be evaluated must be one allowed by the the Jimmy Awards (NHSMTA). Middle school or younger students are not eligible for adjudication regardless of their role. Performers become nominees by earning a top ten score for either Best Actor or Best Actress in the adjudication process. Winners of these awards earn the highest scores respectively from the judges at the live performance. Scores from the adjudicators will only be used to break a tie.
Outstanding Performance by an Actor/Actress
Only registered high school students and home school students officially part of the participating high school’s production are eligible. Middle school or younger students participating in the production are not eligible for adjudication.

Our list of eligible supporting and featured roles grows every year. Check back each year for more approved roles. As soon as a school registers a show with us, we add that show and its roles to the list.
The Spotlight Award
This award recognizes individual or group effort that goes above and beyond, onstage or off: a student who provides all the accompaniment for the show; a dancer who provides a stellar performance; a stage manager who has the tempo and tenor of the show down to a science; a fascinating bit of stage business performed solo or in a group; an orchestra or stage crew who are killing it every night; a delightful performance of a small role; a creative solution to a problem posed in the show that defines genius. Teachers may suggest people or elements of the production for the award; our adjudicators may also make nominations.
Production Awards
Best Production
The production must be one of the Broadway musicals allowed nationally. Schools with the best overall scores will be invited to perform at the Enchantment Awards. The adjudicated high school score determines the winner of this award. The winner will be announced during our awards show.
Best Direction
The director must be a faculty member and/or student of that school. Those schools with the best overall scores will be invited to perform at the Enchantment Awards. The adjudicated high school score determines the winner of this award. The winner will be announced during our awards show.
Best Ensemble
The ensemble must be comprised of registered students and home school students officially part of the participating high school’s production to be eligible. Those schools with the best overall scores will be invited to perform at the Enchantment Awards. The adjudicated high school score determines the winner of this award. The winner will be announced during our awards show.

- Who did not finish in the top 10 for each of the Best Actor and Best Actress awards.
- Who played a supporting or featured role.
The criteria for eligible supporting or featured roles are:
- A character with a full solo, or solo with accompanying voices
- A character with at least one solo verse in a featured song;
- Appearances in more than one scene with spoken dialogue (not just one line) with other lead or supporting characters;
- Clear, significant contributions to either the central or sub-plot(s).
