Jimmy Awards Requirements

A list of elements required by the Jimmy Awards

Jimmy Awards nominees will travel to New York Friday, June 14, 2024. The program begins Saturday, June 15. We provide transportation for our students to and from the Jimmy Awards and cover their meals during travel. All other housing, food, and transportation is provided by the Jimmy Awards.

Please review COVID protocols at the bottom of this page.
All materials are due by May 13, 2024.

These can be submitted on a rolling basis beginning May 6. We can advise on all submissions. Check back to see if there are any changes or additions to this list.

Resume
List every and any role, including grade school and children’s theatre. List all training, including single classes. List any skill, no matter how normal it seems to you. Find a sample here.

Headshot
Must be a high-resolution color jpg file (8” x 10” at 300 DPI). To do it at home, have someone else take the picture. Face the light. Rather than smile, relax. Think about something you’re looking forward to, something you can’t wait to do. Take lots of pictures, 20 or more. You can delete the ones you don’t like. Sample (taken with an iPhone, just so you know if can be done)

Bio
No more than 200 words, written in complete sentences in third person format. (Click for a sample.)

Essay
One (1) page, double-spaced essay describing nominee’s experience participating in theatre or in a performance this year. The more specific your essay, the more we will get to to know about you, which is the purpose of this essay. Be proud of who you are and reveal a little of yourself in the essay. You’re among friends.

The Jimmy Awards has eliminated all requirements for videos for 2024.
